After hatching or birth, the baby Daeodon matures slowly, reaching adulthood in about 2 days at 1x maturation. Hand-feeding is required until 10% maturation. After that, a Feeding Trough handles the rest.
Mutations can add +2 levels to any stat and change colors. Stacking mutations across generations is the key to min-maxed breeding lines. Use the breeding calculator to plan food requirements, incubation timers, and maturation phases.
The Daeodon's growth progresses through three stages: Baby (0–10%) lasts ~292 min and requires constant hand-feeding. Juvenile (10–50%) spans ~19h - it can eat from a Trough now. Adolescent (50–100%) takes ~24h - continues eating from troughs, nearly fully grown.
Imprint bonuses are significant: a fully imprinted Daeodon gains 30% extra damage and damage resistance with its imprinter mounted. Imprint requests include cuddling, walks, and specific kibble - check the wiki for which kibble to stockpile.

Planning a mass raise? The Daeodon raising calculator breaks down food needs per phase so nothing goes to waste. The Baby phase (0–10%) takes ~292 minutes and is the most hands-on, requiring direct feeding or a Maewing.
Raising multiple Daeodon simultaneously? Set the dino count and the calculator scales food requirements automatically. Match your food choice to your play schedule - longer spoil timers mean less babysitting.

During the Baby phase (0-10%), you must hand-feed or use a Maewing to nurse. From Juvenile (10%+), dinos can eat from a Feeding Trough on their own. Use Preserving Salt in troughs to double spoil times.
ARK: Survival Ascended features the Daeodon as a tamable, carnivore creature that survivors will encounter in the wild. It falls within the Healer classification.
Its base Stamina of 250 gives it average stamina. Its base Melee Damage sits at 100%, giving it respectable melee power. Health-wise, the Daeodon sits at 900 base, making it solidly tanky. A base Weight of 400 means a solid weight pool.
To tame the Daeodon, you need to knock it unconscious using torpor weapons, then feed it while it's down. Feed it Superior Kibble for the fastest tame and highest effectiveness bonus.
Once tamed, the Daeodon is valued for its harvesting efficiency, collecting key resources faster than most tools. Killing a wild Daeodon yields 5 base XP. It can be cloned at a Cloning Chamber for 0.67 Element plus 0.01 Element per level.
