Argentavis
The Argentavis is a knockout tame - render it unconscious with torpor weapons like Tranq Arrows or Shocking Tranq Darts, then feed it while it's down. The Argentavis loses Torpor at 0.1 per second while unconscious - stay on top of narcotics.

Check the taming results to see how long it takes to tame the Argentavis, what effectiveness you'll achieve, and how many bonus levels it gains. Better food means better results.
Use the narcotic calculator to determine exactly how many Narcotics, Bio Toxin, or Narcoberries you need for the Argentavis. Your options are Narcotics (40 Torpor), Bio Toxin (80 Torpor, best efficiency), or Narcoberries (7.5 Torpor, cheapest but slowest). With Torpor draining at 0.1/s, don't wait until the bar is nearly empty to apply narcotics.
Use the torpor and starve timers to track your Argentavis tame in real time. Torpor monitoring prevents premature wakeups. The starve timer is for the starve-tame method - let Food drop, then load all kibble at once to avoid waste.
Use the knockout chart to see exactly how many Tranq Arrows, Darts, or other torpor weapons it takes to down the Argentavis. Space your shots to let torpor accumulate - rapid firing risks killing it before knockout.
To simplify the knockout, immobilize the Argentavis first with Chain Bola or Bear Trap.

ARK: Survival Ascended features the Argentavis as a tamable, flying, carnivore creature that survivors will encounter in the wild. It falls within the Farmer classification.
At 365 base HP, the Argentavis is decently sturdy. Its base Melee Damage sits at 100%, giving it decent hitting power. With 400 base Stamina, the Argentavis has good endurance. Weight capacity starts at 400, giving it good carrying capacity.
To tame the Argentavis, you need to knock it unconscious using torpor weapons, then feed it while it's down. For best results, use Superior Kibble - it gives the highest taming efficiency.
Once tamed, the Argentavis is a versatile flyer useful for scouting, traversal, and light transport. Breeding produces fertilized eggs that hatch within a 12°C–13.5°C temperature window. Killing a wild Argentavis yields 7 base XP. It can be cloned at a Cloning Chamber for 0.68 Element plus 0.01 Element per level.
