Ankylosaurus
To tame the Ankylosaurus, you need to knock it unconscious first. Tranq Arrows, Tranq Darts, and Shocking Tranq Darts all work. Torpor bleeds at 0.1/s, requiring regular sedative application to prevent a premature wakeup.

Use the calculator results to plan your tame - they show the exact time, food quantity, and bonus levels for the Ankylosaurus based on your settings.
Below are the narcotic requirements for keeping the Ankylosaurus sedated throughout taming. Bio Toxin is twice as potent as Narcotics (80 vs 40 Torpor per use), while Narcoberries work in a pinch at just 7.5 Torpor each. With Torpor draining at 0.1/s, don't wait until the bar is nearly empty to apply narcotics.
The real-time timers below help you monitor Torpor drain and Food depletion during the tame. The torpor timer alerts you when narcotics are needed. The starve timer tracks Food depletion for starve-taming, where you let the food bar drop before placing all food at once.

The Ankylosaurus, a tamable, herbivore creature in ARK: Survival Ascended, is a common sight across multiple maps. It falls within the Farmer classification.
Stamina sits at 175 base, providing decent staying power. Dealing 100% base Melee Damage, the Ankylosaurus brings respectable melee power to the table. With 700 base Health, the Ankylosaurus is solidly tanky. It carries 250 base Weight - a solid weight pool.
Taming the Ankylosaurus requires rendering it unconscious first - use Tranq Arrows, Darts, or Shocking Tranq Darts to apply torpor. Feed it Regular Kibble for the fastest tame and highest effectiveness bonus.
Once tamed, the Ankylosaurus earns its keep through resource gathering, making tedious farming runs much faster. It reproduces by laying eggs, which must be incubated between 16°C and 20°C. Killing a wild Ankylosaurus yields 6 base XP. It can be cloned at a Cloning Chamber for 0.93 Element plus 0.01 Element per level.
Use the knockout chart to see exactly how many Tranq Arrows, Darts, or other torpor weapons it takes to down the Ankylosaurus. Space your shots to let torpor accumulate - rapid firing risks killing it before knockout.
To simplify the knockout, immobilize the Ankylosaurus first with Chain Bola or Bear Trap. Alternatively, use a Karkinos to airlift it into a pre-built trap.
