The Aberrant Parasaur is a herbivorous variant creature from the Aberration map. It excels at gathering a wide variety of plant-based resources while being carried by larger creatures for rapid deployment. It can be airlifted by Argentavis, Karkinos, Megalosaurus, Quetzal, or Tusoteuthis for fast deployment.
This variant is primarily used for efficient resource farming in dangerous or hard-to-reach areas, leveraging its aerial transportability and broad harvest range.
The Aberrant Parasaur spawns in cave systems and fertile zones across 14 ARK maps. It is considered rare, with the highest concentration typically found in the green zones of the spawn map. These areas often indicate optimal environmental conditions for its appearance.

Taming an Aberrant Parasaur requires a knockout method. Use a Bola, Bear Trap, or Plant Species Y to immobilize it first. Then, apply sedation using weapons like the Bow, Crossbow, or Compound Bow with Tranq Arrows, or the Longneck Rifle with Tranquilizer Darts.
The best food is Basic Kibble, which maximizes taming effectiveness. Mejoberry also works well if kibble is unavailable. The process takes about 7 minutes with Basic Kibble and requires no Narcotics. Use the calculator below for your settings.

Killing an Aberrant Parasaur yields Hide and Raw Meat. The Hatchet yields the most Hide, while the Pick maximizes Raw Meat harvest.
Estimates based on game-extracted data (weights, quantities, harvest multipliers, damage type chains). Each harvest event independently rolls each resource - higher weight = higher drop chance. Actual yields vary with RNG.
While ridden, the Aberrant Parasaur gathers using its Melee attack, which harvests multiple resources at 10× efficiency. This includes Berries, Crop Seeds, Mejoberry, Mejoberry Seed, Mushroom, Narcoberry, Narcoberry Seed, Plant Species X Seed, Plant Species Y Seed, Rare Flower, Rare Mushroom, Stimberry, Stimberry Seed, and Wood. It also harvests Cactus Sap and Fiber at 8× efficiency.
The Aberrant Parasaur has a strong vulnerability to Instant HurtDinos, taking +120% more damage from them. It is also weak to Spike Wall and explosion-based damage. On the other hand, it has a -60% resistance to fire damage, making it highly resilient in fire-heavy environments. Level Health and Melee Damage for survivability.
