Full maturation from baby to adult takes ~21 hours and 2 minutes (1x rate), progressing over the course of several hours. Hand-feeding is required until 10% maturation. After that, a Feeding Trough handles the rest.
Each baby inherits stats from both parents with a chance of mutation - +2 wild levels to a random stat plus a color change. Use the breeding calculator to plan food requirements, incubation timers, and maturation phases.
The Aberrant Otter's growth progresses through three stages: Baby (0–10%) lasts ~126 min and requires constant hand-feeding. Juvenile (10–50%) spans ~8h - it can eat from a Trough now. Adolescent (50–100%) takes ~11h - continues eating from troughs, nearly fully grown.
Imprinting during maturation provides permanent stat bonuses. At 100% imprint, the Aberrant Otter gains 30% bonus damage and resistance when ridden by the imprinter. Keep various kibble types on hand, as imprint requests are randomized between cuddles, walks, and kibble feeding.

The raising calculator above shows exactly how much food you need for each maturation phase of the Aberrant Otter. Budget ~126 minutes for the Baby phase - this is when hand-feeding or Maewing nursing is mandatory.
Raising multiple Aberrant Otter simultaneously? Set the dino count and the calculator scales food requirements automatically. Different food types have different spoil timers - factor that into which food you stockpile.

During the Baby phase (0-10%), you must hand-feed or use a Maewing to nurse. From Juvenile (10%+), dinos can eat from a Feeding Trough on their own. Use Preserving Salt in troughs to double spoil times.
The Aberrant Otter, a tamable, piscivore creature in ARK: Survival Ascended, is well-known across multiple maps. Classified under the Variant group.
Dealing 106% base Melee Damage, the Aberrant Otter brings solid damage output to the table. With 38 base Health, the Aberrant Otter is very frail. With 180 base Stamina, the Aberrant Otter has average stamina. A base Weight of 30 means not built for hauling.
This is a passive tame: no tranquilizers needed. Get close without startling it, then offer food from your last hotbar slot. Its preferred food is Raw Mutton.
As a tame, the Aberrant Otter is valued for its harvesting efficiency, collecting key resources faster than most tools. Killing a wild Aberrant Otter yields 4 base XP. It can be cloned at a Cloning Chamber for 0.84 Element plus 0.01 Element per level.
