The Aberrant Iguanodon is a rare herbivore variant found in bio-zones, caves, and fertile areas. It excels at gathering a wide variety of plant-based resources while being ridden. It can be airlifted by Argentavis, Karkinos, Megalosaurus, Quetzal, or Tusoteuthis for fast deployment across difficult terrain.
The Aberrant Iguanodon appears across 15 ARK maps, primarily in bio-zones, caves, and fertile zones. It is considered rare, so checking the spawn map can help locate high-density areas.

Taming requires a knockout method. Use a Bola, Bear Trap, or Plant Species Y to immobilize it. Then use Tranq Arrows from a Bow or Crossbow, or Tranquilizer Darts from a Longneck Rifle to sedate it. Feed it Simple Kibble for the fastest taming. About 15 pieces of Simple Kibble are needed. The process takes around 13 minutes with no Narcotics required. Use the calculator below for your settings.

Killing an Aberrant Iguanodon yields Hide and Raw Meat. The Hatchet yields the most Hide, while the Pick favours Raw Meat.
Estimates based on game-extracted data (weights, quantities, harvest multipliers, damage type chains). Each harvest event independently rolls each resource - higher weight = higher drop chance. Actual yields vary with RNG.
While ridden, the Aberrant Iguanodon gathers efficiently from multiple categories including berries, fiber, mushrooms, rare flowers, sap, seeds, and wood. It harvests at 10× efficiency on resources like Mejoberry, Narcoberry, Stimberry, Rare Flower, Rare Mushroom, and Wood. It also gathers Cactus Sap and Fiber at 8× efficiency.
The Aberrant Iguanodon has a strong weakness to Instant HurtDinos, taking +120% damage, and is highly vulnerable to spike walls, which deal +100% damage. It is highly resistant to fire, taking -60% damage. Melee attacks with piercing effects also exploit a +50% weakness. Use fire-based weapons sparingly against it.
