Aberrant Dodo Egg & Breeding Calculator

The Aberrant Dodo reproduces by laying fertilized eggs after mating. Incubation temperature must stay between 22°C and 30°C - use Air Conditioners, Standing Torches, or Dimetrodons to maintain the range. At the correct temperature, the egg hatches in approximately 49 minutes.

Full maturation from baby to adult takes ~15 hours and 25 minutes (1x rate), progressing over a moderate period. During the baby phase (0–10%), hand-feed it directly. From 10% onward (juvenile), it can eat from a Feeding Trough.

Offspring inherit parental stats and have a small chance to mutate, gaining +2 levels in a random stat. Use the breeding calculator to plan food requirements, incubation timers, and maturation phases.

The dinosaur reaches the juvenile stage, where it can now eat from a feeding trough, reducing the need for direct feeding.

The dinosaur reaches the adolescent stage, becoming more independent and able to follow you while continuing to grow toward full maturity.

Raising a baby Aberrant Dodo involves three maturation phases: Baby (0–10%) lasts ~93 min and requires constant hand-feeding. Juvenile (10–50%) spans ~6h - it can eat from a Trough now. Adolescent (50–100%) takes ~8h - continues eating from troughs, nearly fully grown.

Imprinting during maturation provides permanent stat bonuses. At 100% imprint, the Aberrant Dodo gains 30% bonus damage and resistance when ridden by the imprinter. You'll be asked to cuddle, walk, or feed specific kibble at regular intervals during maturation.

Use the raising calculator to plan food requirements for raising Aberrant Dodo babies through all three growth stages. Budget ~93 minutes for the Baby phase - this is when hand-feeding or Maewing nursing is mandatory.

Adjust the dino count to calculate food for multiple Aberrant Dodo babies at once - essential for batch breeding operations. Consider food spoilage when choosing what to feed: Kibble lasts days, while Raw Meat spoils in minutes.

During the Baby phase (0-10%), you must hand-feed or use a Maewing to nurse. From Juvenile (10%+), dinos can eat from a Feeding Trough on their own. Use Preserving Salt in troughs to double spoil times.

Found throughout the ARKs, the Aberrant Dodo is a tamable, herbivore creature in ARK: Survival Ascended. Classified under the Variant group.

Stamina sits at 100 base, providing tires quickly. Dealing 106% base Melee Damage, the Aberrant Dodo brings solid damage output to the table. With 38 base Health, the Aberrant Dodo is extremely fragile. It carries 50 base Weight - not built for hauling.

You'll need to knock the Aberrant Dodo unconscious before taming it. Tranquilizers are the standard approach. Feed it Basic Kibble for the fastest tame and highest effectiveness bonus.

After taming, the Aberrant Dodo earns its keep through resource gathering, making tedious farming runs much faster. It reproduces by laying eggs, which must be incubated between 22°C and 30°C. Defeating one in the wild grants 0.5 base XP. It can be cloned at a Cloning Chamber for 0.01 Element plus 0 Element per level.
